Sunday Paperboy Terms

Terms

General terms and conditions — Allgemeine Geschäftsbedingungen

1. Who you are dealing with

Sunday Paperboy is operated by Alexander Kleymann, Zillestraße 74, 10585 Berlin, Germany. Full details are in the Imprint. These terms apply to every contract concluded through this website.

2. What the service is

You describe, in your own words, who you are and what subjects you follow. Once a week, at a day and time you choose, we send you a single email covering those subjects and nothing else. Each claim carries a link to the source it came from. Where a subject produced no news of substance in a given week, the edition says so rather than filling the space.

You can change your subjects and your delivery time at any time on the settings page.

3. The free example edition

Before any payment, you can request one example edition at no cost. It is produced the same way a paid edition is. Requesting it places you under no obligation, and you can unsubscribe from the link in that email.

4. Editions are written by an AI system

Research, selection and writing are performed by an artificial intelligence system, not by a human journalist. We disclose this under Article 50 of Regulation (EU) 2024/1689 (AI Act). No human editor reviews each edition before it is sent.

We build the service to cite its sources and to state plainly when there is nothing to report. Even so, an automated system can misread a source, misdate an event, or omit something important. Please treat every edition as a starting point and follow the source links before relying on anything.

The editions are general information. They are not journalistic reporting in the sense of press law, and they are not legal, financial, medical or any other kind of professional advice. Do not make decisions of consequence on the strength of an edition alone.

5. Subscription, price and payment

A paid subscription costs USD 9.00 per month. The price that applies is always the one shown to you at sign-up.

No value added tax is charged or shown, because the provider is a small business under § 19 UStG. Should that change, prices will be shown inclusive of the tax then due, and you will be told before it applies to you.

Payment is handled by Stripe. The contract begins when your payment is confirmed. The subscription renews automatically each month until it is cancelled.

6. Cancelling

You can cancel at any time, with effect from the end of the current billing month, on the settings page or by emailing alex@sundaypaperboy.com. No notice period, no reason required. We do not refund part-months, but you keep receiving editions until the period you paid for ends.

We may end a subscription with 30 days' notice, or immediately where the service is being abused. In that case we refund the unused part of what you paid.

7. Right of withdrawal

As a consumer you have a statutory right to withdraw from the contract within fourteen days. The full instructions, including how that right can expire if you ask us to start straight away, are on the right of withdrawal page.

8. Availability

We aim to deliver every edition at the time you chose. We do not guarantee uninterrupted availability: delivery depends on email providers, hosting and other services outside our control. If an edition is delayed or missed, tell us and we will make it good — either by sending it late or by crediting the week.

9. What you may do with an edition

Your edition is written for you. Read it, keep it, forward it to a friend if you like. What you may not do is republish editions systematically, resell them, or feed them into another product as a source of content.

10. Liability

We are liable without limit for injury to life, body or health, for intent and gross negligence, and wherever the Product Liability Act (Produkthaftungsgesetz) applies.

For slight negligence we are liable only where an obligation is breached whose fulfilment makes the proper performance of the contract possible in the first place and on whose observance you may routinely rely (Kardinalpflicht). In that case liability is limited to the damage typically foreseeable for this kind of contract. Any further liability is excluded.

Nothing in these terms limits rights you have as a consumer under mandatory law.

11. Changes to these terms

We may change these terms where there is good reason — a change in the law, in the service, or in the services we rely on. We will tell you by email at least six weeks before a change takes effect. If you do not object before that date, the change is taken as accepted; we will say so in the notice. If you object, either of us may cancel at the point the change takes effect.

12. Law and jurisdiction

German law applies, excluding the UN Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods. If you are a consumer resident elsewhere, this choice does not deprive you of the protection of mandatory provisions of the law of the country where you live.

13. Consumer dispute resolution

We are neither obliged nor willing to take part in dispute resolution proceedings before a consumer arbitration board.
