We are not required to appoint a data protection officer. Write to the address above for anything concerning your data.

The short version

We ask for two things: an email address and a sentence about what you follow. We use the sentence to research and write your edition, and the address to send it. We do not sell data, we do not run advertising trackers, and there is no analytics on this site.

When you visit this site

The site is hosted by Cloudflare, Inc. Their servers record the usual technical data for every request: IP address, time, the page requested, referrer and browser identification. This is needed to deliver the site and to defend it against attacks.

Purpose
Delivery and security of the website
Legal basis
Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR — our legitimate interest in operating the site securely
Retention
Short-term log retention by the host; we do not build visitor profiles

Typefaces

The typefaces are served from this domain. Your browser makes no request to Google Fonts or any other font service, so no third party learns your IP address from a page of ours loading.

Storage on your device

We set no cookies and use no tracking. Your browser's local storage holds your subscription details so that the settings page can show them to you. This is strictly necessary for a service you asked for (§ 25 (2) no. 2 TDDDG), so no consent banner is required. Clearing your browser data removes it.

When you ask for an example edition

You give us a free-text description of yourself and your interests, and an email address. You also tick a box confirming that you want the emails.

Data
Email address, your free-text description, the time you gave consent
Purpose
Producing and sending your editions
Legal basis
Art. 6 (1) (b) GDPR for the service itself; Art. 6 (1) (a) GDPR — your consent — for the recurring emails
Withdrawal
Every email carries a one-click unsubscribe link. Withdrawing does not affect processing that already took place.

Please do not put special category data into the free-text field — health, religion, political opinions, sexual orientation and similar. If you write that you follow a political party, we treat that as a subject to cover, not as a statement about you.

How your edition is written

To produce an edition, your subjects are sent to Anthropic PBC (United States), whose Claude models perform the research and write the text. Your name may be included so the edition can address you. Your email address is not sent.

Role
Processor on our behalf
Purpose
Research and writing of your personal edition
Legal basis
Art. 6 (1) (b) GDPR
Transfer
United States, on the basis of standard contractual clauses

The editions are generated by an AI system. This is disclosed under Article 50 of the AI Act; what it means for accuracy is set out in our Terms.

How your edition is delivered

Emails are sent through Resend, Inc. (United States), which processes your address and the content of the message, plus delivery events such as bounces.

Role
Processor on our behalf
Legal basis
Art. 6 (1) (b) and (a) GDPR
Transfer
United States, on the basis of standard contractual clauses

Payment

Paid subscriptions are handled by Stripe (Stripe Payments Europe, Ltd., Ireland, with Stripe, Inc. in the United States). Card details are entered on Stripe's systems and never reach us — we see only the status of a payment, the amount, and the identifiers needed to manage your subscription. Stripe also processes some of this data as its own controller, under its own privacy policy.

Purpose
Processing payments, preventing fraud, meeting accounting duties
Legal basis
Art. 6 (1) (b) GDPR; Art. 6 (1) (c) GDPR for retention under tax law
Retention
Invoices and accounting records are kept for as long as German commercial and tax law requires
